The Holy Grail
1.
With words at stake, or calling names
As you walk by, Dignity
comes in a dingy,
Digs in, nitty-gritty,
and leaves.
Profane is the sound that is uttered
with laughter,
As you bend forward, much so that
You can pick up the coins, scattered,
As you saw a box that claimed offerings,
But preferred trades with coins over souls.
Eternal fire, as is named
The flicker of a match-stick
You saw it through a lorgnette and
Shivered…
And
Jeremiah cursed you, as you then touched a stone
That shook the God in shackles to the core…
2.
You can see wolves howling in the dark.
It’s more of listening or visualizing that you do –
Yet, you see it through the wave, or so says physics.
For a thousand years you never had a chance to read,
Write and speak your minds, but hear only, unless
There’s a wave:
A shrill voice,
Nay! …
Then once, just once, there would be silence.
3.
“Impediment
Was the word that tempted the vixens,
But, had they ever relished in blood and bones,
As they cry and laugh
and tear the rest of the shades that ever covered
The soul,
Chastity – if it ever was there…”
That’s how the story started.
That’s all they said, after rising from hell,
And spreading the wings of deception.
All while their panting tongues
Salivated.
“The vixens watched, laughed…
The wolves howled in silence”
Between the words paving across the night,
She stood still.
Her wings had blood and feathers
Scattered
Across the dark…
4.
Words imitate silence
Silence imitate words
Roads beseech footsteps,
Steps meet at stops
Who stops? There’s none
But the wind that whanged
Her skirt, scarf, and hairs
Or just smelled her bones, flesh,
And blood: All that feed the vile of the dark.
Were there many, or just one
Standing alone under the moon and gone
Soon enough as the cloud shrouded
The stars; then there was none
None but the stories from the past
Never those failed to aghast
The ears that fell their prey
In no time the lights turned gray…
But, the amused feet forgot to run
Then there was one, and there was none
5.
When people are in love, they
Don’t see claws and fangs
And feel the breeze, and pray —
So do all, the prey
Abhor what is evil, they said
And told to love thy enemy,
And then left it all over you to choose
To not hate your brother
Sister, if you are called so
Is alone all along
You know, and you know not
That they said not of what you choose
But whether you’re chosen
As if you never belonged…
Out there near the horizon
You might have noticed a cloud
And a finger asks you to stoop
But you stand still, bemused…
And a smirk, there
That you never see
6.
Then there was darkness.
More like a secret that forbids even chirps
Of crickets, never once
The sound was silent
As an unquestioned submission
Lass, you’re there
You were and would be,
And thy holiness be put to the test —
Not what you believe in, in the name of light
But how you survive
Through the dark
As they wished you to bend
They wished for silence –
But you asked, and there
The bedrock cracked…
7.
Gian Padre, be hallowed thy name
With the blood, pious, as they say
and its trail, to which you drink
From the chalice, day by day
And they glow within the glistening eyes,
As we know Kaypha, the tomb
Upon this stone
And none notices the buds, sad,
Madre, behold
the drop of tear
that abuts the sundered bedrock…
Dein!
Unseen
The vine grows
Unbeknownst to the vinedresser
